This collaborative design for an artist couple with a sense of adventure embraced experimentation with color, pattern, function, and form from the early layouts through the final detailing. Walls become sculptures, tiles are used like textiles, cabinets transform into walls. Found objects mix effortlessly with vintage furniture and family heirlooms. Sliding partitions and folding panels in walnut, formica, and lacquer animate the space to accommodate dinner parties, house guest, or quiet nights at home.
