In a handsome 1929 limestone building, Joe Serrins Studio combined two estate-condition apartments into a generous modern home for a young couple and their two daughters. The space was reorganized into an expansive living area with open kitchen and dining table for twelve; a cozy den and office; and a separate bedroom wing with a master suite and kids' room. Throughout the house, a spare palette of white lacquer, limed white oak, and grey plaster was employed to emphasize clean lines and a calm atmosphere, an escape from the City streets below.
The furnishings are a combination of contemporary and vintage pieces that compliment the architecture and introduce color as well as soft elements for comfort.
